Stamp Coding System

Stamp Trader Document Coding

Stamp Trader requires a coding system to identify individual stamps more comprehensively than using existing catalogue numbers from various organisations and dealers. The Stamp Trader system identifies the Category, Issue Date and Type. The coding system may be used by any other party without seeking permission.

The system coding is AAA-YYYY-NNN-AN where:

AAA = Category (as below)
YYYY= Year of Issue
NNN = Sequential Number allocated by Stamp Trader
AN= Issue Type (as below)

As an example: HLT-1931-001-A1 where:

HLT = Health
1931 = Year of Issue
001 = Allocated number
A1 = Unhinged Mint
